Employment Opportunity
Community Nutrition Educator (FT) with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County: This highly skilled person is responsible for implementing public education to improve healthy lifestyle choices among limited resource families. This includes presenting a series of lessons that focus on nutrition, food preparation, food safety and food budgeting. Required experience: Associates degree and one year volunteer or work related experience or high school diploma and two years volunteer or work related experience. Additional relevant experience working with the target audience and community organizations is desired. Special requirements: Must be able to meet travel requirements of the position. When a personal vehicle is used, mileage will be reimbursed for official business use. Must be available to work some flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends and occasional holidays.

Over the past 40 years, the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) has aimed to assist limited resource audiences in acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes and changed behaviors necessary for nutritionally sound diets, and to contribute to their personal development of the total family diet and nutritional well-being (USDA CSREES, 2009). Watch to find out more about the ongoing efforts of EFNEP programming in New York State, which are delivered through Cornell Cooperative Extension.

Monroe Farm Bureau receives six awards
The Monroe County Farm Bureau received six Silver Key Awards at the New York Farm Bureau's annual state meeting, held earlier this month in Rochester.
These awards go to county farm bureaus that have exhibited excellence in a variety of areas.
Monroe County received awards for excellence in:
Policy implementation local.
Policy implementation state and national.
Information and public relations.
Agricultural education and promotion.
Leadership development.
Membership.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County was recognized by the Youth Services Quality Council at their December 2007 Annual Breakfast, with the Organization Quality Award of the Year. CCE was given the award for their active involvement with the work of the Youth Services Quality Council and commitment to quality service for youth and families in our community.
