Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County’s Participation in 2009 Lilac Festival
| |
As part of its Healthy Monroe initiative, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County (CCEMC), in partnership with a host of local chefs and local farm markets, will be giving cooking demonstrations and tastings using locally-grown products and produce.
| |
“Localvore,” a collaborative effort of CCEMC, local farm markets and local chefs, will highlight the nutritional, environmental, and financial advantages of using locally-grown produce and products, as well as the effect locally grown has on taste.
| |
Taking place on the front lawn of the Extension’s building, located at 249 Highland Avenue, the “Localvore” demonstrations’ and tastings’ days and times will be announced at the Festival on a daily basis. In addition, check the CCEMC website during the Festival at
www.cce.cornell.edu/monroe for “Localvore” event times. CCEMC, local chef and local farm market information will also be available daily to those who stop by.
